when my hail was down to my butt i used to braid it (just one long braid with cute clips or a flower clip at the top) but my braid would be pulled to one side and it was over my shoulder. hmmm, i also used to do the half up half down thing. i wore mine down A LOT it was either all the way down or up in a pony tail.

There is software like this, but I've never found it for free. Just Googling will help you find where you can buy the software, though. With long hair, layers are never a mistake. It will update your look and make everything fresh and healthy. Bangs are a pretty big commitment, though a lot of people look great in them. You probably don't need software to make these decisions...

to reduce frizz, use bumble and bumbles anti frizz shampoo and conditioner, if you want to experiment use a paul mitchel flat iron and put your hair in a half pony tail with curly cue ends with a pretty ribbon!
Clip your ends every month to get rid of split ends. Try to stay away from heat on your hair if you have to use a blow dryer or curlers be sure to by a hair spray that will protect your hair from heat, even the sunlight heat.
Relax your hair to get rid of the curls. Anti frizz shampoo, condition, and hair spray will work also

If you want to cut it, choppy layers will give your hair more volume. SInce its straight, you can always go curly. You can scrunch your hair when damp or use a curling iron if you want more defined curls.

Don't be lazy and expect other people who don't know you, to decide what your hair should be like.
No-one will notice the girl who gets a hairstyle like everyone else, or doesn't have her own ideas. Have a look at yourself and try and decide something that it for you. You won't be happy with it otherwise.

My mom has always said that short women should wear their hair above the shoulders. Longer styles supposedly overwhelm the person and make her look shorter. I'm 5'2 and prefer my hair long. I recently cut it to shoulder-length because I'm 25, look young for my age and felt that a shorter style would be more professional-looking and easier to deal with. However, I find that it actually takes longer to style, and I just don't think it suits me. I'm wanting to grow it mid-back length again, but do you think it will make me look shorter and less professional? It's in good condition and I'll have some layers cut in to give it more style. How do you feel about the long hair stereotypes (esp. the short people/long hair one)? Is there some truth to them?
technically yes, but I just tell my clients to do what they are comfortable with. Anyway if you're short, you're short and hair is not going to change that or the appearance of that much. Wear your hair like you want, you are the one who has to deal w/ it on a daily basis. Good luck.

Okay...yes, long hair normally makes short people look shorter. Hpwever, that doesn't mean that you have to be excessive. For a professional look, have layers put into your shoulder length hair by razoring. It loosens up the look and is a snap to style. Shampoo, some spray gel, air dry or a quick upside down blow dry and you are out the door. It looks professional yet sexy and loose, too. Just FYI: a wide face looks wider if your hair hits chin length. a narrow face looks wider w/a chin length cut. There are so many tricks...if only I had the time!

My hair is several inches below my shoulders (pretty long) and dark brown, and I feel exactly the same way you do. Go rebellion! It depends on my mood, sometimes I'm feeling a bit more mainstream and sometimes I just want my hair to defy gravity compleely, but my hairstyle is cut in a way that i can go with both looks.
First, dump your current hair place. If you go somewhere like Clips or SuperCut, they're trained to not do something crazy to your hair (even if you ask for it) so you won't end up looking freaky. Find your nearest tatto place/hair salon where you get a good vibe and the people have desirable hair and try getting your hair done there. I didn't get my hair cut the way I wanted it until I did this.
Next, tell your hair person you want your hair SUPER layered and TEXTURIZED. Tell her you want some layers around your chin and more a little bit higher.
Have fun! This hairut is versatile but always cute. Backcomb it in the back, spike it, dye it, curl it, straighten, whatever. I like my hair this way and I bet you will too :-)

omg, u can do anything u want. You can get shag haircuts with tons of layers (kinda punky), bangs, a bob w/ layers, shorter hair! Ur possibilities are endless. but it all depends on what u feel looks good on you and make u feel comfortable. in my opinion, if u have straight hair, go short! =)

You could always get a coloured extension woven into your hair, which is a bit punk, but in an understated way. You can even get removable ones, which may suit your school constraints. Hot pink or green would look great against dark chocolate hair.
If you're willing to cut some of your hair, you could always get a "mullet style" (I know it sounds bad, but a girl at my work got one recently, she used to have super-long all one length hair, and it looks great and really modern). You keep the length at the back but get some fairly short layers cut in around your face and over the crown of your head. While this style is very dramatic when your hair is loose, it can be toned down by wearing your hair in a ponytail or otherwise in an "up" style, which you could get away with at school, I'm sure.

Trim off your split ends at least every six weeks. This will help to maintain a healthy look. Long Length hair is very easy to make 'scene', although it needs lots of TLC.
Use conditioner and shampoo tailored for your hair type. If you straighten/curl, use proper protection.
Brush your hair daily. Also comb gently to get rid of dead hairs. If you are considering getting it cut,get it razored and layered. Don't be shy with hair accessories! Kirby grips, bobby pins, bows, and ribbons look hot!

Keep your hair away from your face. You need a lot more volume around your face but away from it. Curls would be great on you. No straight hair it will make you look too long in the face.
Layers that frame the face would be perfect. Just know that long, narrow faces are the easiest faces to match a hair cut to, so pretty much ne-thing your thinking of would look good. (just stay away from long hair that's all one length, this will make your face look longer) Hoped I helped :-)

A trip to a library or a book store may be of help. Find a book showing different hair styles for long hair and fresh ideas for the plaits (and the instructions helping your daughter to do the plaits by herself). Also you can check the ideas on the web (I asked for--styles of plaits). My daughter has long and thick hair that she donates and when it is summer and it is very hot out she puts her hair up. To best do that and keep it up she uses hair accessories, such as chopsticks and a bun holder. She found these at stores like a local drugstore in the haircare section. They seem to work and keep her hair off of her in the warm sun then. She also has it stay in place when she gets this done. Accessories add a nice touch to the look of the hair then also. A pin up style may be tougher to do with thick hair without some type of hair item to help it stay in place then. Good luck.

Layers require quite a bit more work than one length. You could try braiding it or a high ponytail with curls on the end. Side ponytails look good. If you decide to have it highlighted have it done professionally. It will look a lot better. Look in magazines for girls with your same face shape and coloring in order to make a good decision that will make you happy, but don't be too trendy.

Your picture is to dark to see but I would suggest you do alot of research.Not only do you need to know what styles you would like,but also what will work with your hair type. Search off yahoo for hairstyles for strait/curly/thick hair. Whatever your hair type is.Just don't cut off to much you can always cut off more,it takes a long time to grow out. Good Luck!
I would say get it cut to about your shoulder blades and layered. If you want, sideswept bangs would be cute. Your hair looks really cute now though =)
this sort of thing is hard to answer without seeing your face. the shape of your face really determines what hairstyle looks good. but with the few vietnamese girls i know, the ones with short hair kept it long (about 2 inches past shoulder) with long, choppy layers. Its great becuase you can make it look neat and proper, or you can have more fun with it. Also, a lot of girls like you would look good with straight across bangs (between wispy and medium thickness), and long, straight layers to about your shoulder.
However, for your best bet, go to a professional. They know what will look best on you, and they have tons of hairstyle magazines. And it doesn't cost you any more than just getting a regular haircut.

This company takes the hair like this and makes wigs for the patients because they loose their hair during the chemotherapy. This is an excellent gift and the beautician will help you pick a style that will match the shape of your face. If you find a place, they will know how to cut, pack and ship it.
Wow! You have gorgeous hair. I would kill to have that long of hair. Cut your hair straight across halfway down your back. Maybe add some auburn highlights or get cute side swept bangs. That way it will be a change for you but not too upsetting for you're parents. Your parents shouldn't control you so much. I mean come on you're a Senior for crying out loud. This is your year to be different and unique. A hair cut would be a great way to make that happen!
My hair used to be that long too. When I signed with my modeling agency, they had me cut my hair. They did it just a little shorter than my shoulders and it was sooooo HOT! I totally recommend that. Think, Jennifer Annisten, towards the end of friends, when her hair was kind of short.

when my hail was down to my butt i used to braid it (just one long braid with cute clips or a flower clip at the top) but my braid would be pulled to one side and it was over my shoulder. hmmm, i also used to do the half up half down thing. i wore mine down A LOT it was either all the way down or up in a pony tail.

I think it is very rare that long hair looks good on a woman over 50. But, I guess it depends on the woman. I think the cut off age is quite a bit lower than 50 too. More like in a woman's 30's. But a larger proportion would look good in long hair in their 30's but not more than half.

BUT, facts are facts, and gray hairs (the individual hairs themselves) are a different texture. They are more twisty, resist hair color, and grow at a different pace. All those combined make long gray hair unmanagable for most people.
Shorter styles that use the texture (rather than fight it) seem to be more flattering for many women.
Least flattering (for all ages!) is a long, raggedy ponytail hanging low and flat. Gray roots under the grown out hair color, stray hairs 'boinging' out here and there -- screams trailor trash to me. Hair cuts aren't expensive, and a simple style is affordable to 'everyone'.

I intensely dislike these sorts of questions, because you always get people who think they can dicate how you should dress and act based on your age, weight, size, race, etc.
If you want to have longer hair, then have longer hair. Don't listen to those who disagree, because it's really none of their business. The only ones that would have an issue with this are either very judgemental and yet to grow up or they know they wouldn't have the confidence themselves, so they don't want anyone else to.
My mother is in her early 50's and is growing her hair out. Not extremely long, but just past shoulder length. Contrary to popular belief, long hair doesn't make one look older or drag the face down unless the hair is flat and lank. The right cut and colour can look fantastic on any age.
Unless your hair is in very poor condition, then show it off. Don't cut it all off, because you feel you should or because a few shallow or bitter people don't agree.

Well Something nice and casual would be Pinned up at the top like Gwen Stefani [If you don't know how Gwen Stefani usually has her hair Google it] usually wears her hair and curly and flowing at the back. Also try it pinned at the back and curled. Usually any curly or wavy style is casual/formal. For a more formal, debutante look pinned up all the way is the best!

How exiting! It sounds like your hair could be cut in many different ways because of its length. But a hairstyle should be chosen considering many factors like face shape, life style, age, hair texture etc.
Side fringes and layers suit most people and are very fashionable at them moment. I would say don't go too short at first aswell.

to reduce frizz, use bumble and bumbles anti frizz shampoo and conditioner, if you want to experiment use a paul mitchel flat iron and put your hair in a half pony tail with curly cue ends with a pretty ribbon!
Clip your ends every month to get rid of split ends. Try to stay away from heat on your hair if you have to use a blow dryer or curlers be sure to by a hair spray that will protect your hair from heat, even the sunlight heat.
Relax your hair to get rid of the curls. Anti frizz shampoo, condition, and hair spray will work also
You can wear your hair so many different ways:pinned up, down, corn roll, french roll, I would advise you to buy a magazine on hair and it could better help you.

i have long hair and i love to wear it in a braid. if I leave it loose it usually gets into knots so I avoid that. Hmm.. you could also wear it in two braids.. but it'll make you look like a little girl.. so don't do that. i've seen some people tie it into a high pony tail; you can try that. Or some people have the guts to make tiny little braids all around their head.. takes forever though.. but it stays for days and after you take it off your hair will be all pretty and curly and shiny (if you put oil). Also, you could wind it round and round and make it into a bun high up.. it looks great most of the time.

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)
Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)
Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise.

I'm a 43 year old male in Denver Colorado. I prefer short hair over long hair any day. My ex-wife had super short hair and now I'm hooked.
A shoulder-length cut is probably the most versatile. I think long and short hair take about the same amount of time to look good, long hair taking more for special occasions. However, most short haircuts have to have something done to them, whereas long hair can be pulled back. On the other hand, a lot of girls are lazy and just live in their ponytails when given the chance.
About guys and hairstyles, I cut mine off, I got a lot of positive feedback and attention from guys. Nobody noticed me when I had long hair. Don't think that having short hair automatically makes a woman ugly. It really depends on how shoe pulls it off

I really don't suggest pulling all your hair up, such as pony tail, I've tried that before and ended up having a weird photo of mine....if you want to tie it up, you can tie up half upper part of your hair or separate your hair into several vertical parts, twist each part and pin it(just upper part of ur hair)....leave some hair dangle at the sides of your face and it would be better if you have side-parted fringe...usually straight hairstyle makes us looks younger, but if you want to look elegant try curling only the tips of your hair and you can also try pin up some of the curls...

you can get your hair cut if you want
some long nice layers to create a little wave would look simple and perfect. if your hair isn't very thick then u can try a side fringe or a full front front. ask ur hairdresser- they know what would match ur face

Get some lovely long layers cut in and some that frame your face. Be careful with fringes cos if you hate it they take ages to grow out.
i also have long wavy hair i manage them easily i often straightened my hair and let them free because in straight hair you can make different hair styles of your own but dont make plaits, it makes hair more wavy and free hair looks good than any hair styles

The inverted bob is all the rage at the moment and you can have a long version of that done. its very sleek and stylish and you can change it easily when you get fed up of it. Sorry no pictures of it but you cant help but see them in every magazine on the shelf. Posh spice is the most famous example.

If ur hair is like medium long length (a lil'longer below the sholder) and ur hair is all one length, I always do my hair half up half down (and I make sure my hair is sleek and strait before I put it up).
I also put my hair in a high pony and I make the strands hanging out wavy with this Paul Michel gell I use when I get out of the shower.

And you could always get a cute cloth headband (its more comfortable) that wraps around your head with a cute bow or lil'button, and either make ur hair wavy with gel or straight.

I love this too! Its is very elegant if done right! But does take some time. I suggest taking a shower first so your hair is wet, and comb so ur hair is neat in 2 parts. Then you will need to make one clean bun on the back of ur head on one of the sides you parted by pulling it back,(as if making a pigtail) and making sure you get all the hair up in your high bun.Tighten with a rubber band around the bun or fasten bobby pins around it. Repeat on the other side bun. Tip:You could always braid it first then make a bun. and when U braid it bobby pin it son the ends of ur braided hair go upwardlike this:

And lastly I love to make lil'pigtails right below my ears(not the high ones) with my hair dangling down either wavy or braided! I suggest puting a rubber band in it first be4 the braid though.

And always remember-there are a TON of hairstyles out there I havent even all completly mentioned like knoting ur hair, (I suggest this w/ short hair) or a making a lil'bow loop thing right be4 you take out all the hair of your ruber band! But if u want a DRAMATIC change, go to the salon and if u wear it DOWN all the time get layers(dont do this if you like ponies) or short! Talk w/ur hair styler 4 more tips!

I think it depends on the person, I loved my hair when it was short, it looked cute and funky and suited my bone structure, it was a kind of elfin cut (like Halle Berry but I am not as pretty as her!) and I am small so I think it worked well. Now I have been trying to grow my hair for just over a year and it is a nightmare. It is not shiny or attractive, it looks like I have had a really bad home perm and I hate it, every morning I am upset with it. I promised my boyfriend I would try and grow it for two years to see what it looks like and he loves it but I am so unhappy with it!
I think with long blonde hair it would look drop dead gorgeous if you had loads and loads of barrel curls done all over it, then break them up a bit to have long spirals all through it. I know that would take a long time to get it done and you will have to have someone help you with the back to make sure it is curled well, but I think it would be worth it.
personally.. i hate when people part their hair down the middle..[sorry] try parting it to the side alittle bit.. and i think you should put it in curlers.. it would look really pretty with long blonde hair.
